Open Meeting on Brownsville Road Improvements This Thursday

Economic Development South is hosting the meeting at Carrick High School.

Economic Development South will host an open house meeting this Thursday, April 18, to discuss improving Brownsville Road.

The organization invites all local residents, especially those who frequent the area, to share thoughts and ideas for making the Brownsville Road corridor more connected and a nicer place to spend time in the community.

The meeting will be held in the Carrick High School cafeteria at 125 Parkfield St., Pittsburgh, PA 15210, from 6 to 8 p.m.

From Economic Development South:

In 2012, EDS was awarded a grant from the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development to develop a strategic action and implementation plan for the business districts/commercial clusters along Brownsville Road. The plan will identify specific streetscape improvements, public safety improvements and long-term programs and initiatives to retain existing and attract new businesses to this key commercial corridor. In late 2012, EDS and a steering committee selected Jackson/Clark Partners as the project consultant. Jackson/Clark Partners has also engaged Urban Partners to assist with plan development.
