National Weather Service Issues Freeze Warning for Baldwin-Whitehall

Unprotected plants will be damaged.

Baldwin Borough, Baldwin Township and Whitehall Borough and their surrounding areas are under a freeze warning from 1 to 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures may dip into the 20s overnight.

Meteorologists warn that unprotected outdoor plants will likely be damaged or killed, so cover your in-ground plants and bring potted plants indoors.

The temperature is expected to rise throughout the week. The high on Wednesday will be around 80 degrees.

  • Monday Night: Areas of frost after 2 a.m. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 32. West wind of 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Tuesday: Areas of frost before 8 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 59. Calm wind becoming south at 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
  • Tuesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. South wind of 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a 10th of an inch are possible.
  • Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. South wind of 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
