Momsday: The Great Escape

Norman Nardini is back in Baldwin Borough. Also, learn how to bake from HappyJack Bakery.

Hello, moms! Did you have a great week?

Did you enjoy ? I heard that a lot of Baldwin-Whitehall turned out for the event. That’s what I like to hear: everyone getting out and enjoying a great night in Baldwin-Whitehall. We all need a little time for fun in our busy lives.

This week, I found a couple of things to do in B-W country before the holiday festivities are in full swing for the Fourth of July.

If you are looking for another fun night out with the hubby and your friends, Norman Nardini will be back at  on Saturday, July 2. Nardini and his band will be playing outside there under a tent, so you can enjoy the beautiful weather along with great tunes. The band will be at Legacy Lanes on Saturday night from 6 to 10, and the cover charge is only $5. The music is expected to start at around 7.

Did you know that Nardini opened for Bon Jovi at CONSOL Energy Center in February?

Time for another great night of rock and blues with Norm and the boys at Legacy Lanes, so grab your dancing shoes and head on out. They always put on a great show.

Looking for a little time out by yourself or with your best girlfriends? HappyJack Bakery Owner Lynnette Kelley will be demonstrating how to make chocolate-chip snowballs and strawberry pie this week at the . Kelley's demonstration is set for Wednesday, June 29, from 7 to 8 p.m., and it’s FREE.

Please register for the event, as always, on the Whitehall Library website. If you are looking for a new recipe for that picnic or graduation party that you’re headed to, this sounds like a great way to learn from a professional baker! Plus, this is a great way to get out for some time to yourself. And what husband wouldn’t want you to make a new recipe for him?

Maybe you can even convince the kids to help you make a batch of chocolate-chip snowballs next week when they’re all whining about how bored they are!

So have a great week, moms. Enjoy all of the fireworks around Pittsburgh, and remember to get some time for yourself. Every mom needs some!
