Momsday: The Great Escape

Also on Saturday, for you moms looking for a good book to take poolside this summer, the is hosting the Bring you own bag—but no garbage bags please—and fill it with books for just $1! The library will be selling fiction, non-fiction, children's and teens' books as well as music CDs. You can find the sale in the Community Room of on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (while supplies last).

While you're there, you might want to pick up a book from the Whitehall Library's Farmer's Market Reading Guide list. The books on that list are the library's summer reading suggestions and also cookbooks to help you cook those delicious locally grown vegetables that you can pick up at the Caste Village Farmer's Market.

Speaking of that, the starts on Monday, June 6, and will run there every Monday through Oct. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. Time to grabs some great locally grown produce to go along with dinner on the grill.

In the mood for another flea market and crafts fair? Grab your friends and go to the 's this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sisters' indoor/outdoor market will have over 65 vendors set up, and it's free admission. The sisters have a sprawling campus on McRoberts and Hamilton roads in Whitehall.

Tell your friends to meet you at the Whitehall Library on Monday at 11:30 a.m. The library will be hosting a event. You will learn how to change a tire, read the gauges on your dashboard, check your car's fluids, jump your battery, change your wiper blades and much more. Bring a friend and a brown-bag lunch, and the library will provide drinks, dessert and all the knowledge that we need about cars. Sounds like a great class for us moms who would like to know just a little bit more about the cars that we drive everyday in case we get into a jam.

And finally, looking to de-stress a little this week before the kids are done with school for the summer? At the Whitehall Library on Monday at 7 p.m., a Schoolhouse Yoga instructor, Caitlin Frew, will be teaching . You will learn some basic asana poses and ways to deal with stress (not that us moms have any stress!!).

Bring a mat or a heavy towel. Online registration is required, but the class is free.

So there you have it: lots to go out and do with the hubby, friends or just by yourself for some mom time in Baldwin-Whitehall! Grab it while you can and ENJOY! Have a great week!
