Momsday: The Great Escape

Hello, moms! Did you have a great Mother’s Day? The sun was shining, and the weather was glorious. What a perfect day to celebrate being a mom.

With the weather forecast looking rainy again for this coming weekend, I found you something really fun to do indoors—something that signifies the coming of summer, something that is fun to do without spending a fortune: FLEA MARKETS!

Yes, flea-market season is here, and there will be two in Baldwin-Whitehall this Saturday.

The  and ’s joint Parent-Teacher Organization is holding a on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the cafeteria. Proceeds from the sale of tables for vendors and any donations that the PTO receives will benefit the organization’s yearly activities. Refreshments will also be available for purchase at the event.

The is also having in the from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. This is also a fundraising event, and proceeds will benefit the Whitehall Library.

What a fun way to spend a rainy Saturday. You know what they say: One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Plus, all proceeds will benefit groups that ultimately benefit our local community.

So grab your hubby, your friends or your neighbors and go out to a flea market on Saturday. You never know what treasure you might find here in Baldwin-Whitehall.

Early next week, on Election Day (Tuesday, May 17), the will be hosting an  from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The library will be selling used books, DVDs, CDs and more, and proceeds from the sale will go to Baldwin’s new library fund. In fact, books will be sold all week long at the Baldwin Library.

So grab a friend, go vote and then go find some great used books, movies and music. And hey, get some tasty baked goods to nibble on while you enjoy that great novel or DVD on your comfy couch while getting some “mom time.”
