Why Go?: Every Friday, stop into the and join other adults to watch a new DVD release! This week, the movie is Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Where?/When?: Downtown Pittsburgh/Friday, Nov. 18, 5-10 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19, noon-9 p.m.
Why Go?: The 51st Duquesne Light Light Up Night will kick off this Friday in Point State Park with a Santa Spectacular! The evening will be capped off by the lighting of the legendary 80-foot Duquesne Light Christmas tree, followed by Macy's fireworks and a music finale. Stroll through the city side of Point State Park and enjoy treats and activities for kids of all ages! Saturday night will begin with concerts in Market Square at noon. Other activities include a skating performance at The Rink at PPG Place, pictures with sugar plum fairies on Fifth Avenue and a horse-drawn candlelight carriage parade. Where?/When?: Lowe's (Bethel Park)/Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: Christmas is right around the corner! This kit is the perfect way to get your kids in the Christmas spirit!

Where?/When?: Whitehall Public Library/Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m.-noon.
Why Go?: Learn how to use the more advanced features of Yahoo! Mail, such as file attachments and contacts. You must have an account with Yahoo! to participate in this class. If you need assistance setting up an account, you are welcome to come to the library at any time prior to the class, and someone will help you. Register online.

Where?/When?: /Saturday, Nov. 19, noon-3 p.m.
Why Go?: The Whitehall and  public libraries present an afternoon of music! Join them for a light lunch and the harmonizing sounds of the Pittsburgh South Hills Keystone Chorus of the Barbershop Harmony Society. This program will be held in the Community Room of the Whitehall Municipal Complex. Register online.
Pricing: $5 per person.

Where?/When?: Brentwood Volunteer Fire Company/Saturday, Nov. 19, 2-8 p.m.
Why Go?: Proceeds from this pasta dinner fundraiser will be used to help defray the cost of cancer treatments for Kathy, who has ovarian cancer. Kathy is a longtime member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Brentwood Volunteer Fire Company and has helped many families. Her husband, Jack, has been a member of the Brentwood Fire Company for 30 years, holding positions of Chief, Assistant Chief, and currently, board member. The dinner consists of pasta with sauce, salad, roll, drink and dessert.
Pricing: Donation is $10 per adult. Children aged 11 and younger and senior citizens will be charged $7 each.

Why Go?: Baldwin High School presents two one-act plays: "Hard Candy" and "Check Please: Take 3." "Hard Candy" is about job applicants at Banff Enterprises that will do anything to claw their way up the corporate ladder. In a fast-paced series of hilarious interviews, the new recruits try every trick in the book, from bribery, nepotism, and the Old Boy Network to blackmail, seduction and mind control. "Check Please: Take 3" is about two best friends, a guy and a girl, who used to be a couple. Desperate to buck singlehood, they decide that, even considering their atrocious blind dating track record, it's worth another shot. But after struggling through dates with a wannabe rock star, a vote-starved politician and the guy who does those intense movie trailer voiceovers, there's the inevitable question of which is better: staying single the rest of your life, or suffering through a series of the worst dates in history?

Where?/When?: John McMillan Presbyterian Church/Sunday, Nov. 20, 1-5 p.m.
Why Go?: A Bethel Park military veteran needs your help! Mike Trout has served our country for over 31 years. Mike was a master sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and survived many hazardous and critical situations. Indeed, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his valor in combat, but now, Mike needs your help! Mike was critically burned in an explosion at his house on June 29, 2011, and is now fully disabled due to the injuries that he received in the explosion. He is unable to work and has no local family, so Mike's close friends have organized a spaghetti dinner benefit to help him try to return to a normal life. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at Bethel Park's Evey True Value Hardware, Video Doc Productions, Judy Murtaugh Dance Studio and Unique Beautique.
Pricing: $8 per adult and $5 per child aged 7 or younger.

Where?/When?: Heinz Hall/Sunday, Nov. 20, 7:30 p.m.
Why Go?: In the shadow of their successful tour of Italy last summer, the musicians of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO) now look to Germany and Russia for musical inspiration. Music Director Lawrence Loh will lead the 95-member orchestra in the most recognizable symphony ever written—Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5." Shakespeare's famous characters will come to life in the "Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture" by Tchaikovsky. Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Assistant Conductor Thomas Hong will conduct the rousing opener "Ruslan and Ludmilla" by Glinka. Now in its 65th season, the PYSO continues its tradition of presenting free concerts at Heinz Hall.
