Git Aht!: The Weekend Planner

Here are 10 events happening this weekend, including some special New Year's Eve events.

1. 
Where?/When?: Wendy's/Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 29-31
Why Go?: Now through Dec. 31, customers who visit area Wendy's restaurants can make a $1 donation to support local disaster relief efforts and subsequently receive free Junior Frosties for an entire year. Customers can purchase a Junior Frosty Key Tag for $1 and then show that key tag on subsequent visits to participating Wendy's locations throughout southwestern Pennsylvania to receive free Junior Frosties through Dec. 31, 2012. Fifty cents from each purchase will support the disaster relief efforts of the American Red Cross, and 50 cents will support the relief efforts of The Salvation Army.
Pricing: $1 donation.

Where?/When?: Mt. Lebanon Ice Center/Thursday, Dec. 29, 9-11 a.m.
Why Go?: This program is for preschool through kindergarten-aged children accompanied by at least one adult on skates, and siblings of the preschool and kindergarten-aged child.
Pricing: $4.25 per person. Skate use is included.

Where?/When?: /Friday, Dec. 30, 1:15-4 p.m.
Why Go?: Each Friday, the screens a different movie! This week, the movie is Dolphin Tale.
Pricing: FREE.

Where?/When?: Art/Ink Gallery (Beechview)/Friday, Dec. 30, 6-9 p.m.
Why Go?: The Art/Ink Art Gallery will present the Holiday Art Installation Opening Reception. The exhibit features new and vintage holiday greeting cards and unique fiber sculptures and embroideries.

Where?/When?: /Friday, Dec. 30, 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
Why Go?: Get your bowl on with one sweet deal at this Curry Road location!
Pricing: $12 per person.

Where?/When?: Pittsburgh Zoo/Saturday, Dec. 31, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Why Go?: It's like Times Square—only family-friendly! Countdown to noon and watch the "ball" drop, sign the New Year's ReZOOlution banner and dance yourself silly with Radio Disney!
Pricing: $10 per adult and $9 per child and senior.

Where?/When?: Children's Museum of Pittsburgh/Saturday, Dec. 31, 11:30 a.m.
Why Go?: Kids are welcome to a bedtime-friendly New Year's Celebration with lots of fun activities and an exciting show by local magician Jason Hudy.
Pricing: $12 per adult, $11 per child aged 2 to 18, $11 per senior citizen, $10 per members' guests. Children under 2 are admitted for free.

Where?/When?: /Saturday, Dec. 31, 3 p.m.
Why Go?: The community is invited to ring in the new year at Michael’s Restaurant & Lounge. They will be serving dinner from 3 to 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve. After dinner, there will be drinks, appetizer specials, party hats and a champagne toast at midnight. Call 412-882-4707 to make reservations.

Where/When: Downtown Pittsburgh/Saturday, Dec. 31, 6 p.m. 
Why Go?: Highmark First Night Pittsburgh is a unique, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration focused on the arts. Held in more than 200 cities worldwide, the festival is a wonderful way to bring in the New Year in an uplifting, alcohol-free atmosphere. Centered in the Cultural District, First Night Pittsburgh has something for everyone, from children’s activities and performances by nationally known musicians to installations by local artists and a spectacular fireworks finale. Where?/When?: Legacy Lanes/Saturday, Dec. 31, 9-11:30 p.m.
Why Go?: Legacy Lanes is hosting a New Year's Eve Party featuring the band Night Shift and a hot dinner buffet. Music starts at 9 p.m.
