Where?/When?: Courtyard Marriott 10th Street façade and David L. Lawrence Convention Center garage façade/Sept. 7-18, dusk-midnight.
Why Go?: Duquesne Light and The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust present two temporary lighting memorials for the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The memorials are meant for people to gather and reflect on the events of that historical day. Click to read more about these extraordinary projects.

Where?/When?: /Thursday, Sept. 8, noon-3 p.m.
Why Go?: Who says that adults can't have fun, too?! Stop by the to play classic games like Pictionary, UNO, dominoes and more!

Where?/When?: Main Street in Carnegie/Thursday, Sept. 8, 4-10 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 9, 4 p.m.-midnight; and Sunday, Sept. 10, noon-midnight.
Why Go?: Come enjoy the Carnegie Arts & Heritage Festival! The festival runs from Sept 8-10 and is three days of music and entertainment on three stages. The event also features a creative marketplace filled with vibrant arts and crafts, a food court featuring sumptuous ethnic foods, and a children's area to keep the youth entertained all day long! Click here for a full schedule of events.

Where?/When?: Saint Pius X Byzantine Catholic Church/Friday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Why Go?: Saint Pius X Byzantine Catholic Church is holding its annual rummage sale. There will be ethnic food including halušky, pierogi, stuffed cabbage and baked goods. Take-out available.
Pricing: Varies, though admission is free.

Where?/When?: Steeplechase community (Whitehall Borough)/Saturday, Sept. 10, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Why Go?: The Steeplechase community in Whitehall, off of Weyman Road, is having its annual community-wide garage sale (rain or shine). There will be a hot dog/lemonade stand that will also be selling funnel cakes. Come and enjoy the bargains and food. Please be mindful of Whitehall's parking restrictions on all of the streets, as they are still enforced on sale day for safety reasons.

Where?/When?: /Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Why Go?: Baldwin Township will hold a community-wide garage sale. Residents should keep an eye out for signs around the township.

Where?/When?: Lowe's/Saturday, Sept. 10, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: Children will build and decorate their own toy police car using this project kit.
Pricing: Free with purchase of supplies.

Where?/When?: /Saturday, Sept. 10, 10-11 a.m.
Why Go?: Smell the fresh air and stretch your legs at a Saturday Outdoors Hike. These one-hour hikes will cover a different topic each month while following the many beautiful trails around the classroom. These hikes are perfect for all ages and great for family activities that will give everyone a chance to connect with the nature found locally. Call 412-838-0064 to register.

Where?/When?: /Sunday, Sept. 11, 8:30 a.m.
Why Go?: This is a brief ceremony to remember the solemn day 10 years ago when the United States was attacked. The event will include special music.
Pricing: FREE.

Where?/When?: South Park Fairgrounds, Sunday, Sept. 11, 6 p.m.
Why Go?: The first Pittsburgh 9/11 Heroes Run features a 5,000-meter race and a 1-mile fun run/walk to honor fallen American heroes. The Travis Manion Foundation's philosophy is to "honor the fallen by challenging the living." The 9/11 Heroes Run exemplifies this philosophy. It is an event that allows anyone to set a reasonable goal and demonstrate his or her commitment to honoring the sacrifices of our heroes through a physical endeavor—symbolic in nature but powerful when multiplied individually and by community. Online registration ends Sept. 6; however, there are many ways that you can help the organization.
