Here are 10 events happening this weekend in the Baldwin-Whitehall area and surrounding neighborhoods.

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue. We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

It's a good idea to have CASH ready for these events.

1. 
Where?/When?: /Thursday, Sept. 1, 6-11 p.m.
Why Go?: St. Gabriel's all-paper bingo features 31 games, including regular games, specials, winner-take-all quickies and a final, $1,000 jackpot game. The "Ace of Hearts" will be over $15,000 this week. There will be a free dinner for every paying player. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Pricing: $30 for first set of six cards; $5 for each additional six-pack.

2. 
Where?/When?: /Friday, Sept. 2, 1:15-4 p.m.
Why Go?: Each Friday, the Whitehall Library's  will screen a movie. The movie this week is TBA, but it is a newly released DVD.
Pricing: FREE.

Where?/When?: Uptown Coffee/Friday, Sept. 2, 6-9 p.m.
Why Go?: A family-friendly event featuring free live music and the chance to check out the businesses in Mt. Lebanon's central business district. Enjoy live street performers and a great community experience.
Pricing: FREE.

Where?/When?: /Friday, Sept. 2, 7:30 p.m.
Why Go?: The Highlanders will play against Fox Chapel Area High School. The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch will be there. The Baldwin-Whitehall School District's Athletics Department urges game attendees to visit highschoolsports.net for the latest updates before leaving for an event, as all schedules are subject to change with very little notice.
Pricing: $6 per entry (reserved); $5 (general admission); $2 (student AT SCHOOL); $5 (student at gate).

Where?/When?: The Home Depot/Saturday, Sept. 3, 9 a.m.-noon.
Why Go?: These workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time, helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons and an achievement pin. This week's project is an ESPN College GameDay board.
Pricing: Free with purchase of supplies.

Where?/When?: Whitehall Public Library/Saturday, Sept. 3, 10 a.m.-noon.
Why Go?: Learn how to use the more advanced features of Yahoo! Mail, like file attachments and contacts. You must have an account with Yahoo! to participate in this class. If you need assistance setting up an account, you are welcome to come to the library any time prior to the class, and someone will help you. Click here to register.

Where?/When?: Michaels/Saturday, Sept. 3, 10 a.m.-noon.
Why Go?: Grandparents Day is Sept. 11. Children aged 3 and older can wish grandparents a joyous day with a handmade card. This is a make-it-take-it event (while supplies last).
Pricing: Free with purchase of supplies.

Where?/When?: South Park Fairgrounds/Saturday-Monday, Sept. 3-5, starts at noon.
Why Go?: Bring the entire family to savor great tastes, as teams of cooks battle it out for the best ribs and chicken wings available anywhere. This Labor Day weekend-long event also includes live concerts by a terrific selection of bands; crafts booths; a petting zoo, pony rides; a beer garden; a children's area; and even a sports zone. The band Everclear will perform on Saturday, followed by War on Sunday. On Labor Day, Molly Hatchet will perform.

Where?/When?: Michaels/Saturday, Sept. 3, 1-3 p.m.
Why Go?: Celebrate Grandparents Day with a personalized frame. Children aged 3 and older can participate in this make-it-take-it event (while supplies last).

10.
Where?/When?: Any Pennsylvania waterway authorized for fishing/Monday, Sept. 5, starts at 8 a.m.
Why Go?: Labor Day is the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission's second and last Fish-for-Free Day of 2011. This day allows anyone to legally fish with or without a fishing license.
Pricing: Other than the equipment, FREE.
