Get Out: The Weekend Planner

This weekend, cheer on the Penguins or take a drive to the city for an art extravaganza!

The work week's almost over, and you've got no idea what you're doing this weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

1.) Unblurred: First Fridays on Penn
Where?/When?: Penn Avenue Arts District (4800-5500 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh)/Friday, March 4, 5 p.m.-1:30 a.m.
Why Go?: Various galleries are opening their doors to showcase a variety of artwork and performances, including live music. You can experience new art and mingle with different art makers, from old to young to classical to modern, all within blocks of each other.
Pricing: Most events are FREE, and most establishments offer food and drink discounts.

2.) Watch a Pens Game at Legacy Lanes and Eat Free Pizza
Where?/When?: /The Penguins play the Devils on Friday, March 4, at 7 p.m. and the Bruins on Saturday, March 5, at 7 p.m.
Why Go?:
 Watch Pens games at Legacy Lanes and enjoy a FREE second-intermission pizza buffet!
Pricing: FREE, though Legacy Lanes may encourage you to do some bowling. (Bowling prices here.)

Why Go?: Stretch your creative mind in this weekly workshop. Call the library to register.

Where?/When?:  auditorium/Sunday, March 6, 2-4 p.m.
Why Go?: Bring the family to watch J.E. Harrison Middle School's presentation of "Alice in Wonderland Jr."
Pricing: $4/person. Bring CASH.

5.) Date Night!
Where?/When?: /Anytime!
Why Go?: When was the last time that you and your significant other had a night out for just the two of you? If you have to think about, then it's been too long! This week, we suggest Thee Olde Place Inn. Read more about the restaurant .
Pricing: Depends on what you get! Here's the menu. Though prices are not listed, entrées typically range from $15-25.
