1.) Watch Pens Games and Enjoy Beer Special
Where?/When?: /The Penguins play the Islanders on Friday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. and the Rangers on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 3 p.m.
Why Go?: The local bar and restaurant, sitting across the street from Baldwin High School, offers entrees such as clubs, burgers, sandwiches and pastas, not to mention TVs for sporting events.
Pricing: Labatt Blue for $2.25 per serving during Pens games.

2.) Friday-Night Cosmic Bowling
Where?/When?: /Friday, Feb. 11, from 6 to 10 p.m.
Why Go?: You'll be asking "Why not?" soon. Every Friday, this bowling center in Caste Village changes the lights and pumps up the music for a unique experience.
Pricing: $10/person for any two-hour time period.

3.) Movie at the Dollar Theater
Where?/When?: Carmike Maxi-Saver 12 at nearby Century Square/This writer is finally checking out Despicable Me with his wife on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m.
Why Go?: The movies are cheap, and the place might have the best popcorn around!
Pricing: $0.99/person for the movie. Can't beat it, even if the movies have been out quite a while. Hey, they're new to you!

4.) Go Highlanders!
Where?/When?: 's varsity boys basketball team finishes its 2010-11 season with a pair of road games this weekend. The Highlanders are at Bethel Park High School for a section game on Friday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m. and at Thomas Jefferson High School for a non-section tilt on Saturday, Feb. 12, also at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go?: Boys basketball season is almost over!
Pricing: It varies, but bring CASH!

5.) Book Sale
Where?/When?: Brentwood Public Library/Saturday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go?: It's not quite Baldwin-Whitehall, but it's sure close. Take it easy on Saturday afternoon and check out the Brentwood library's sale of adult and children's hardback and paperback books, magazines, puzzles and more.
Pricing: Varies.
