Curry Hollow Traffic Restrictions Wednesday in Baldwin, Pleasant Hills

Intermittent stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur as needed.

Traffic stoppages on Curry Hollow Road on the border of Baldwin and Pleasant Hills boroughs will occur on Wednesday, weather permitting, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0.

Intermittent stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur as needed in both directions on Curry Hollow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Route 51 and Keeport Drive. Crews will be erecting beams. The Pleasant Hills Police Department will control traffic.

Additionally, the right lane of Curry Hollow will be closed in the westbound direction between Bliss Drive and Arbor Lane for beam unloading.

The project, which started in early 2012, includes replacing an existing three-span encased I-beam bridge over railroad tracks west of Arbor with a single-span adjacent box beam structure; widening the existing roadway to add a turning lane; traffic signals installation; resurfacing; and other improvements on Curry Hollow between Route 51 and Brownsville Road. Overall work will conclude in the late fall of 2013.

The prime contractor is Carmen Paliotta Contracting, Inc.
