B-W Trivia Answer: Where Was This Coal Tipple?

ANSWER: And the answer is ... We're stumping EVERYONE these days!! This was known as the Becks Run Mine coal tipple and was located at the intersection of Becks Run Road and River Road (East Carson Street).

The Baldwin Historical Society brings you another trivia question that delves into our area's colorful past. Pat Lombardi and Patty Woehler, co-presidents of the society, generously write the questions and provide the pictures.

Here is this week's question:

In 1907, the coal that had been mined at this tipple was brought here on what were called dingy tracks.

The coal was weighed and loaded into freight cars to be transported on the railroad for sale.

What was this part of the local coal company called, and where was it located?
