The Brentwood 4th of July Committee will hold an annual "Night at the Races" event at north Baldwin Borough's Saint Albert the Great Catholic Parish on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m.

The "Night at the Races" is a fundraiser for Brentwood Borough's annual Fourth of July parade and celebration, which committee Chair John Frombach says draws more than 40,000 spectators each year from all over Pittsburgh's South Hills area.

"Night at the Races" used to be held at the Brentwood VFW Post 1810, but Frombach said that it has gotten so popular that the committee needs more space to accommodate people.

The cost to attend the fundraiser is $10 per person and includes a dinner buffet with beer, soft drinks and mixers. While at the event, attendees can wage bets on digital horse races and participate in a Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle and instant bingo.

While doors open at 6 p.m, the first race will not go off until 7.
