B-W Trivia: What Were These Buildings Called?

We will reveal the answers on Monday.

The Baldwin Historical Society brings you another trivia question that delves into our area's colorful past.

Pat Lombardi and Patty Woehler, co-presidents of the society, generously write the questions and provide the pictures.

Here is this week's question (actually, questions):

This property on Clairton Boulevard was purchased by a couple in 1944.

Louis and Virginia were a bartender and a waitress at Bill Green's Night Club. They were married in 1936.

The two-story brick building was built in 1960 and was a favorite place for teenagers and adults. The property was sold in 1991.

The building in the background was a club that was very popular from 1945 until it closed around 1970.

What are the names of the two buildings and the family who owned them?

Pinchera's Restaurant, and the Ginny Lou (named for Virginia Pinchera). Some of us used to hang out there years back when her son ran the place.

Ginny Lou's was super for New Years parties, & such & Pinchera's had great Pizza. Back in early 1960's we enjoyed it to the hilt, but like all good things, they sometimes come to an end. Long live the memory of GL & P's. Sad to see that go. Thank heaven for Memories!!!!

I remember Pinchera's. As teenagers we would come there after spending the earlier part of the night dancing at the Grove. Pinchera's did have good Pizza. I guess now they would probably go to Eat n' Park.

Okie doke, folks, according to Pat Lombardi from the Baldwin Historical Society (http://baldwinhistoricalsociety.org), the answers are Ginny Lou's and Pinchera Pizzeria, and the family name was Pinchera.
