Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God, 3603 McRoberts Rd, Pittsburgh, PA | Get Directions »
$5.00
The Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God in Whitehall host monthly take outs the second Wednesday of each month from September – May, where patrons are offered several homemade selections. Wedding, their most popular soup, is always offered along with rotating selections that may include Chicken, Broccoli, Potato, Vegetable Lentil, and other soups, as well as Haluski or Chili. Using fresh ingredients, their chef makes the soups healthier by omitting additional salt and preparing cream soups with skim milk instead of heavy cream.
Soup is $5 a quart, and can be picked-up at the Sisters Motherhouse on the scheduled dates. Please place orders at (412) 885-7232 by the Thursday before pick-up.

More About Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God
To say that there is a lot happening at the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God campus would be a massive understatement. This "order of women religious" is composed of very busy women, as their sprawling grounds host The Franciscan Spirit and Life Center, the Franciscan Child Day Care Center, three hermitages and the Franciscan Townhomes, to name just a few things. The campus is technically divided into two main locations just feet from each other: 3603 McRoberts Rd. and 1401 Hamilton Road, both on the edge of the Borough of Whitehall. Also on the grounds are the Mary Immaculate Chapel, numerous study rooms, a gymnasium, living quarters for the sisters and the Episcopal Vicar-Region Two office of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The Early Learning Institute also rents space on campus. Mass is offered every day, but interested goers should contact the organization ahead of schedule to ensure Mass times. Prior contact with the organization for all schedules is encouraged. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of the organization, which makes its U.S. home at this location.
