Wednesday's Quote of the Day

Some people don't realize it, but the movie "Shawshank Redemption" was based off a story in Stephen King's novella, "Different Seasons."

One of the passages that helped me fall in love with the book also became one of the best scenes in movie history—at least in my humble opinion:

"I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged, their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend."

For fellow fans of the movie (and for those who aren't familiar with the scene), I included it as a link :)

Jon, One of the best movies ever. Also loved the quote, "Remember Red: Hope is a great thing - maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies." Thanks for reading!
