Day 2 in Hackleburg, AL

Six firefighters from Baldwin Independent Fire Company No. 1 are heading back to Hackleburg, AL, from June 9-12 to deliver fire equipment and to help rebuild an area ravaged by tornadoes in the spring of 2011.

One of the six fighters—Brian Zimmerman—will blog from Alabama to keep the Baldwin Borough community abreast of the trip.

Below is Zimmerman's second blog post. Read Part 1 here.

Day 2 in Hackleburg, we started off by celebrating Mass. The priest and the members of the church welcomed us with open arms and with their southern hospitality.

After Mass, the members of the church made a great lunch for us, the Hackleburg Fire Department, the Hackleburg Police Department and the members of the church to enjoy.

During lunch, the Baldwin boys responded to the Panther Market along with the Hackleburg FD and PD for a medical call.

After the medical assist, we did some various things around town with the Hackleburg FD to help them in any way that we could.
