Whitehall Man Charged with DUI in Baldwin Township

Arrest occurred on March 10.

Baldwin Township police have charged a motorist—Paul Louis Dalessandro, 51, of Audbert Drive in Whitehall Borough—with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at around 2:53 a.m. on March 10.

An officer pulled Dalessandro over for speeding and crossing a double yellow line while traveling eastbound in the 400 block of McNeilly Road, Baldwin Township police Chief Terrence P. O'Brien said.

While interacting with Dalessandro, the officer smelled an alcoholic beverage, O'Brien said, and put the driver through field-sobriety tests, which he failed, before arresting him.

He was taken to St. Clair Hospital for a blood test—results pending—prior to being released.
