Whitehall Man Arrested on Drug Charge at 911th Airlift Wing

U.S. Air Force security smelled an odor of marijuana emanating from contractors' van.

Contractors working at the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon Township were detained by U.S. Air Force security forces on Jan. 7 and charged with drug possession.

The men—48-year-old Emil Provident of Whitehall Borough (Margaret Street) and 37-year-old Robert McGrail—were charged by Moon Township police with prohibited acts after Air Force security said that the men tried to bring marijuana paraphernalia onto their base.

Provident and McGrail, who are employed by a roofing contractor working for the air base, were stopped at a security gate after security smelled an odor of marijuana emanating from their van.

Security then searched the vehicle and found a pipe and bags smelling like marijuana. All persons are subject to search on a military installation.
