The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch has partnered with the Baldwin Historical Society to bring you a weekly trivia question that delves into our area's colorful past.
Pat Lombardi and Patty Woehler, co-presidents of the society, will write the questions and provide the pictures.
Here is this week's question:
This was the main street (pictured, early 1900s) in a coal-mining area. Groceries and beer were delivered by horse and wagon, and company houses lined both sides of the street.
Which street is it?

I don't know where in Whitehall you live, however, I think Whitehall does a great job of maintaining ours streets.

I believe it is Shuette/Brentwood Rd. My history teacher at Baldwin H.S. taught us about the history of cool mining in this area. He explained that the workers lived in the connected houses and the manager(s) lived in the stand alone homes.
