The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch has partnered with the Baldwin Historical Society to bring you a weekly trivia question that delves into our area's colorful past.

Pat Lombardi and Patty Woehler, co-presidents of the society, generously write the questions and provide the pictures.

Here is this week's question:

J. C. Fox and Norman Schwotzer, partners, started this business in 1919.

These pictures are from the early 1920s.

There was a railroad siding on this site until the 1980s.

In 1953, the business was incorporated.

The men in the first picture, left to right, are Wilbur Lutz, Florence Lutz, Clarence Leech and Jake Leech. They are employees of this company shown along with their trucks in 1925.

What is the name of this company?

I grew up in Whitehall and I also LOVE looking at these pics. I remember when Spring valley, Highgrove and part of McKee Dr. were dirt roads. I remember being allowed to ride my bike to Caste Village from McKee Dr., back then there weren't very many cars on the roads. Also remember a friend living on Gardenville Rd. and having a horse that he would ride to your house. Lots of good memories of Baldwin, Whitehall
