Crews from the Pennsylvania American Water Company have been repairing a water line near the intersection of Brownsville and Streets Run roads on the border of Baldwin and Whitehall boroughs since Tuesday morning.
The line runs directly through the Option Supply Co. property in Baldwin and has caused water company workers to dig large holes on both Brownsville and Streets Run in order to make repairs. Traffic is being reduced by flagmen to a single lane near those holes.
Both Option Supply management and a PA American worker said that they anticipate the work and traffic reductions to continue through the evening rush hour.
Option management said that the line never burst on Tuesday but that it has been leaky for several weeks.
The water at Option has been turned off, but the store remains open for business until 4:30 p.m.
