Howard Hanna Real Estate Services of Baldwin Borough will hold its annual "Children's Free Care Fund" dinner and Chinese auction at the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church on Old Clairton Road on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Admission to the event is free, but for $7, guests can enjoy dinner and dessert. (Kids eat for free.) And for $20, guests can buy a strip of 25 Chinese auction tickets for a chance to win one or more of the many prize baskets available.
Baskets include items such as lottery tickets, DVDs and much more.
There are also four special prize baskets eligible to be won at the event through a separate Chinese auction. Tickets cost $5 each for those baskets: (1) a behind-the-scenes sit-in for two people on the set of the DVE Morning Show, a T-shirt autographed by the Morning Show cast, an autographed Billy Gardell DVD and an autographed photo of the cast of TBS's "Sullivan & Son," (2) a Heath Miller autographed football, (3) a Brett Keisel autographed football and (4) a 2011 Winter Classic jersey autographed by Evgeni Malkin.
The mission of Howard Hanna's "Children's Free Care Fund" is to help to ensure that children receive the best medical treatment available.
All Howard Hanna offices participate in the fundraiser by holding a fun luncheon or evening event. Donations and sponsors are sought, and tickets are sold. All of the Care Fund events are open to the public and supported by the community.
"Children's hospitals cannot do what they do without the support of the local community," Howard Hanna CEO Howard W. "Hoddy" Hanna III said in a news release. "Your support helps improve the health and well-being of area children who are faced with disability, disease or chronic conditions.
"More than ever, children need all of our help."
Nine different children's hospital facilities in Pennsylvania and Ohio benefit from the Free Care Fund campaign, including Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
