Around this same time last year, we asked you, "Are the Bucs for Real?"
This year, we really mean it. And we hope that the Buccos do, too.
The Pirates once again have Pittsburgh buzzing about baseball, but can the city's "Boys of Summer" keep it up through early October?
Following last season's second-half collapse, many Pittsburghers are skeptical, but optimists will point to improvements across the board this year—Andrew McCutchen, the pitching staff, June and July's offense—as reasons to believe that the Pirates will not only finish with a winning record but will compete for a division title and a spot in the 2012 playoffs.
What do you say? Are the Buccos—in first place at the All-Star Break and 11 games over .500—this good? Why? Why not?

Well, at Sunday's game, they made Tim Lincecum look like an amateur. He exited after four innings. Even Clint Barmes got a hit. After watching them the past few weeks, I felt like they could stay in the game against anyone. But, then again, they've crashed and burned before, but I couldn't love them any less. IMHO, what is holding the Pirates back is the ownership. And the BFOIMLBB.

I have not been this excited about the Pirates since players who have statues at PNC Park were playing at Forbes Field and Three Rivers Stadium. Raise the Jolly Roger!
