REOPENED: Rtes. 51 & 88

Heavy rain caused trouble on Friday.

UPDATE (8:50 p.m.): These roads have reopened.

UPDATE (6:35 p.m.): Motorists still cannot access Route 88 from either Route 51 or McNeilly Road.

Route 51, near its intersection with Route 88 in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood, closed on Friday afternoon due to heavy flooding.

The popular highway was hit especially hard between Maytide and Saint Norberts streets.

Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes.

Is 51 still closed or has it re-opened?

"caused trouble" is an understatement. At least this time we only lost 3 vehicles.

The roads were a mess. Hope when they do the road construction they fix the creek so it doesn't over flow like it did yesterday.
