Congratulations to Baldwin High's senior Andrew Kuchta for winning the boys 3,200-meter run in 9 minutes, 10.36 seconds, one year after finishing third in that same event behind teammate Paul DeGregorio.

Kuchta will now compete in the 2012 PIAA (state) championships at Shippensburg University from May 25-26. He will be joined by teammate and sophomore Luke Smorey, who placed third in the boys javelin throw with a toss of 182 feet, 8 inches.

The top four finishers in each event automatically qualify for the state meet, as do any athletes that hit a state qualifying standard and finish in at least eighth place.

On the girls side, Baldwin's senior Krista Kuss earned a trip to the state championships via a fourth-place finish in the 200 dash. Kuss posted a time of 25.77 seconds in that event.
