Breaking: Whitehall Parents Sue Pittsburgh Zoo »
Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Post Your Events and Announcements on the B-W Patch

We write plenty of articles, but the quickest way to publicize an event or an announcement is to post it yourself. It's easy!

The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch takes pride in covering a variety of topics with full-fledged articles, including the who?, what?, where?, when?, why? and how? We even include (a) picture(s) with every article and, if needed, valuable quotes from those who can provide firsthand experience or expertise on a given article's subject.

Nevertheless, though we certainly give it our best shot, it often takes some time before we can get to every topic.

In the meantime, the quickest way to publicize an event or an announcement on the B-W Patch is to do it yourself. Yes, you must register with us to do so, but it's FREE! And once you're signed up, you can cater your Patch account any which way that you'd like.

To post your event, click on the "Add an Event" button on this page.

An event can be anything from a block party to a poetry reading to a sporting event to a concert. We're sure that you could think of a few others, too.

To post your announcement, click on the "Add an Announcement" button on this page.

An announcement can be anything from a marriage to a new baby to making the honor roll to posting coupons for your business.

It's all in the name of informing our community! We'd prefer that your event or announcement be directly related to Baldwin-Whitehall, but if you're close, we'll take it.

I wanted to let you know about a new petition I created on We the People,
on WhiteHouse.gov, and ask for your support.
If this petition gets 25,000 signatures by December 15, 2012,
the White House will review it and respond!

If a petition gets enough support, the Obama Administration will issue an official response.

You can view and sign the petition here:

http://wh.gov/XZ9c

Information about this petition:

Require Zoo's to have more secure cages & enclosures keeping the
animals in and the people out of them thus preventing accidents. Incidents
and accidents where people have gotten into Animal enclosures or animals have
gotten out of animal enclosures have happened at several Zoo's around
the world and recently at the Pittsburgh Zoo, resulting in injury and death
to animals and people. Fully enclosed animal enclosures will make such
incidents far less likely if not impossible and will save the lives of both
people and animals. Glass barriers, fences or bars where needed will allow
the public to enjoy and view the animals while keeping the two separate.
This will not only serve public safety but also protect the animals many of
which may be threatened or endangered species.
