Police Planning DUI Patrols in the South Hills

Numerous police departments, including Baldwin Township's, are planning to participate this weekend.

Numerous police departments from across Pittsburgh's South Hills area, including Baldwin Township's, are planning to participate in roving DUI patrols on Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Other participating police departments include ones from Bridgeville Borough, Scott Township, Heidelberg Borough, Collier Township, South Fayette Township, Mt. Lebanon, Castle Shannon Borough, Dormont Borough and Green Tree Borough.

Officers from those municipalities will be on patrol looking for impaired drivers. However, they will not set up any stationary checkpoints throughout the night, police said.

The effort is in conjunction with the Mt. Lebanon Area DUI Task Force and is funded through the Pennsylvania DUI Association with grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
