Pittsburgh Woman Arrested for DUI in Baldwin Township

Arrest was made as part of the township's cooperation with the Mt. Lebanon Area DUI Task Force.

A Baldwin Township police officer stopped motorist Lauren L. Schutte, 23, of Ella Street in Pittsburgh's Bloomfield-Lawrenceville area, for speeding in the 100 block of McNeilly Road at around 1:48 a.m. on Saturday.

According to Baldwin Township police Chief Terrence P. O'Brien, the officer smelled alcohol coming from Schutte while she was pulled over at the nearby Busy Beaver on Route 88 in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood and reported that Schutte failed field-sobriety tests there.

She was arrested, charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to the Mt. Lebanon police station for a blood test as part of Baldwin's cooperation with the Mt. Lebanon Area DUI Task Force. Results of that test are pending.

Could you please correct your story. Busy Beaver is NOT and has never been in the Overbrook section of Pittsburgh. It is located on Route 88, yes, but it is not in Overbrook. It is either in Baldwin Township or Castle Shannon but, it is NOT in Overbrook.

Thank you.

Busy Beaver is in Overbrook. At the Corner of Killarney and Library Road is when it turns into Castle Shannon.
