"You represent the finest that we have here at Baldwin High School" were the words of Baldwin Principal Kevin O'Toole on Wednesday night as he and several other high school administrators and teachers, plus a few special guests, honored a large chunk of Baldwin's Class of 2012 just eight days prior to graduation.

Wednesday's ceremony, held at the Baldwin High auditorium at around 7 p.m. following a senior dinner, allowed employees from the Baldwin-Whitehall School District as well as family and friends to recognize members of this year's graduating class who have earned notable titles, scholarships and other awards as a result of their time at the high school.

O'Toole, the evening's master of ceremonies, reflected on what it means to say goodbye to another class of seniors, particularly Wednesday's group of award winners.

"What we teach them here—the academic lessons, the life lessons—they've taken these lessons into their hearts," he said. "And now, they prepare themselves to go forward to represent our school, our community, and most importantly, their families.

"We are so very, very proud of you."

The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch attended the ceremony and captured pictures of award winners and award presenters.
