Patch Picks: Back-to-School Prep

The B-W Patch gives you another best-of list in a weekly feature.

The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch presents its weekly Patch Picks feature, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off and more.

This week's Patch Picks are five things to do to prepare for the 2011-12 school year.

  • New Supplies: This is an obvious one. Let the B-W Patch help and check out this list of area deals.
  • Check the Schedules: Not all of our area's schools (public and private) have their 2011-12 calendars available online, but the Baldwin-Whitehall School District's most recent 2011-12 calendar is.
  • New Clothes: Hey, kids grow. Most high-schoolers' clothes don't fit from one year to the next. Here is another list of area deals.
  • Elections: Voting for school board candidates this November is a way of showing that you care about your district. Here are profiles of candidates that the B-W Patch produced in May (1, 2) to help you get to know your potential future leaders.
  • Get Your Mind Right: Each school year is about new opportunities, not obligations.

Check back each week for more Patch Picks.

Here are last week's picks, which featured five new or coming-soon businesses to the Baldwin-Whitehall area or nearby.
