New State Rep. Erin Molchany Sworn-in at Capitol

Molchany represents part of Whitehall Borough and all of Baldwin Township.

Erin Molchany began her first term as a state representative on New Year's Day with a swearing-in ceremony at the state Capitol in Harrisburg.

Molchany, a Democrat who bested Republican Chris Cratsley in November's general election, will represent Pennsylvania's 22nd House District, which includes part of Whitehall Borough and all of Baldwin Township.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Molchany said that there is much to be done in her district and that the opportunity to speak for that community is humbling.

"As I have done before, I again pledge tireless dedication and my deepest commitment to serving everyone in my district," she said. "There is so much to do. I'll be there with you and hope you'll be there with me."

In addition to Baldwin Township and Whitehall, Molchany's district includes the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Brookline, Beechview, Mount Washington, Duquesne Heights, Overbrook, Manchester, Sheraden and Esplen, and Castle Shannon Borough.

District residents can contact Molchany's office at 412-343-2094 or visit the office at 900 Brookline Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Molchany replaces former state Rep. Martin Michael Schmotzer, who is again serving on the Baldwin-Whitehall School Board.
