Molchany Pledges Dedication, Commitment to New Role

A column by State Rep. Erin Molchany, who represents part of Whitehall Borough and all of Baldwin Township.

On Jan. 1, I took the oath of office as State Representative. It is so deeply humbling and an absolute pleasure to serve the communities of the 22nd legislative district.

Kicking off the new year in our magnificent state Capitol, it was easy to make this year's resolution. It's the same promise that I made to so many of you as I campaigned over the past year. I pledge dedication to our community and a fervent commitment to the issues you have asked me to address. I will fight to champion a comprehensive transportation plan that adequately addresses our aging infrastructure and public transit; to support and reinvest in our public schools to secure our children's future; and to prioritize job creation and expanding opportunities that enhance our quality of life. I am pleased to have been appointed to the House Consumer Affairs, Education, Human Services and Urban Affairs committees, which will allow me to help shape important legislation on these issues and others which will directly impact my district.

I am your voice in Harrisburg, and my office is your community resource. My district office, located at 900 Brookline Boulevard, is open for business. We will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. For your convenience, we will open Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You may also contact the office at (412) 343-2094 or repmolchany@pahouse.net.

My door is always open to your concerns and ideas to improve our community. We will of course offer assistance with all state-related business. But more than that, I want to help our community continue to be a wonderful place to live and do business, and to bring greater resources and opportunity to our neighborhoods and their residents.

I look forward to the journey ahead, and am grateful for the opportunity to work with you to serve and strengthen our community.
