Man, Woman Arrested in Baldwin Twp. on DUI Charges
Both arrests occurred on Feb. 16.
Working in cooperation with the Mt. Lebanon Area DUI Task Force, a Baldwin Township police officer stopped a motorist in the 2600 block of Route 88 in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood at around 12:12 a.m. on Feb. 16 for erratic driving, Baldwin Township police Chief Terrence P. O'Brien said.
Daetwyler displayed signs of intoxication, O'Brien said, before the officer put him through breath-analyzer and field-sobriety tests, which he failed, and took him to the Mt. Lebanon police station for a blood test (results pending).
Police are charging Daetwyler with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Also on Feb. 16—though independent of any DUI task force—a Baldwin Township police officer stopped a motorist near the McNeilly Road-Sussex Avenue intersection at around 2:19 a.m. for erratic driving, O'Brien said.
Jennifer Deigan, 26, of Broadway Avenue in Pittsburgh's Beechview neighborhood, was speeding and went straight through the McNeilly-Sussex intersection from a turning lane, O'Brien said.
The officer smelled alcohol coming from Deigan's vehicle, O'Brien said, before putting her through breath-analyzer and field-sobriety tests, which she failed, and taking her to the Mt. Lebanon police station for a blood test (results pending).
Police are charging Deigan with DUI.
