Man Charged with Drunkenly Setting Off Frisch's Burglar Alarm

And four other stories in these Whitehall police notes.

Man Sets Off Frisch's Alarm

Police officers responded to a burglar alarm activated at Frisch's Restaurant in Whitehall Borough at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko said.

After investigating the incident at the popular Caste Village business, including interviewing a resident of nearby Grove Road, the officers learned that an individual had run from the restaurant area shortly after the alarm had gone off.

Police tracked that individual down on nearby Weyman Road, Danko said, and identified him as Joseph Iannaccio, 28, of 332 Flowers Ave. in Pittsburgh's Hazelwood neighborhood, Danko said.

Iannaccio was in "a highly intoxicated condition," according to the deputy chief, and was taken into custody before being released to a relative. Police are charging Iannaccio with public drunkenness.

"Apparently, he was just so intoxicated he fell against the rear door (of the restaurant)," Danko said.

Whitehall Man Charged with Public Drunkenness at Caste Village

A police officer on patrol at Caste Village at around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday tried to speak with a man sitting on the steps of the shopping center's breezeway but received no response, Danko said.

The officer found the man—Mark Lyon, 56, of 200 White Hampton Ln. in Whitehall's Maiden Bridge and Canongate Apartments complex—to be "highly intoxicated," Danko said, and are charging him with public drunkenness.

Asked why the man wouldn't respond to the officer, Danko said, "Apparently, he was just so intoxicated that he didn't move."

Azalea Drive Party Results in Disorderly Conduct Charge

Whitehall police received an anonymous call at around 11:50 p.m. on May 2 regarding an alleged underage drinking party taking place at a house in the 5000 block of Azalea Drive, Danko said.

Upon investigating the incident, police officers found 17 individuals at the house in question and are charging a 19-year-old man whom they believe to be the party's host—Thomas Degore of 5035 Azalea in Whitehall—with disorderly conduct.
