EXTENDED: Large Stretch of Route 51 to See Pothole Patching

The work will run from Brownsville Road to Route 88.

UPDATE: This work has been extended for Monday, April 29, to Friday, May 3, at least.

Crews from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0 will cause temporary lane closures and restrictions on Route 51 from at least Dec. 10 to 14, 2012, due to pothole patching.

The work will occur in various locations across the busy state road—specifically, from its Brownsville Road intersection on the border of Whitehall and Brentwood boroughs to its Route 88 intersection in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood. That is an approximately 1.7-mile stretch.

Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the work area.
