DUI Checkpoints Around Town This Busy Weekend
Area police departments are rolling out sobriety checks and extra DUI patrols.
With all of the St. Patrick's Day events happening in and around Pittsburgh this weekend, area police departments want everyone to have fun, but they also want to keep everyone safe.
The South Hills Area DUI Task Force, which includes police departments from Baldwin Borough, Bridgeville Borough, Scott Township, Collier Township, South Fayette Township and Castle Shannon Borough, will increase efforts to find impaired drivers this weekend.
And Baldwin Township police will partner with Mt. Lebanon police and the Mt. Lebanon Area DUI Task Force to do the same.
Also, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police will be conducting DUI patrols and managing sobriety checkpoints throughout the city this weekend.
Pittsburgh's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade—which will be attended by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden this year—takes place on Saturday, and the NCAA Division I men's basketball championships tournament is in town, as well.
