Baldwin Township Building New Website

Web Update

The saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." But the Baldwin Township Board of Commissioners has decided to upgrade the township's website anyway.

As board President Eileen Frisoli said, "We needed it done."

On Tuesday night, the commissioners unanimously agreed on the latest of motions aimed at executing a website redesign project for Baldwin Township that should improve residents' awareness of municipal activities and policies, including having the township's code of ordinances available in a searchable format similar to Baldwin Borough's.

"(The township code has) always been on the site (as a PDF)," Commissioner John Paravati said. "It's just hard to find. The whole site's getting completely redone. It's going to be a lot more user-friendly.

"Hopefully, it informs some people more instead of having to call Mary (McGinley, the township's manager)."

Added fellow Commissioner Nick Pellegrino about the impetus for rebuilding the website, "Just looking at other ones (other municipalities' sites) and seeing how far behind we were."

McGinley said that the project will cost approximately $4,000 up front and about $45 per hour for service after its launch.

"It was a very reasonable cost," she said.

Pellegrino said that he is hopeful that the website will be updated adequately by the end of June, this year.

Whitehall Pool Season Rate for Township Residents

Baldwin Township residents can buy season passes to the Whitehall Municipal Swimming Pool for $60 per pass, Paravati said on Tuesday.

Meeting Attendance (or Lack Thereof)

This reporter was the only audience member at Tuesday night's township meeting.

The very brief gathering lasted approximately 11-and-a-half minutes.
