Baldwin High School musicians participated in a side-by-side performance with the River City Brass Band at the Baldwin High auditorium on Feb. 26.

The first half of the performance saw the Highlander Marching Band enter the auditorium to an energetic cadence from their drumline, leading into their performance of "Mainstreet America," a medley featuring "You're a Grand Old Flag" and songs honoring each of our nation's armed forces.

During the second half, the Baldwin symphonic, concert and stage bands took the stage with the River City Brass (RCB) itself.

Under the baton of RCB director Dr. James Gourlay, the bands performed Samuel R. Hazo's "Ascend" before closing the concert with a performance of the U.S. national march—"The Stars and Stripes Forever" by John Philip Sousa.
