"Allegheny City Smokehouse is an organic movement in more ways than one," its website claims, "from the product itself to the people that have helped establish it."

One of those people is CEO Jared Lordon, a 1998 Baldwin High School graduate whose business was recently featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The aptly-named Smokehouse is, simply put, a meat-cooking company—fresh bacon and nitrate-free kielbasa available for $6 per pound—that is housed inside of a wooden shed in the backyard of a house in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood, according to the P-G article.

Lordon and his business partner, Kelly Patton, cook and smoke their pork over live fire inside of that shed.

And no, you can't make this stuff up.

"We're calling it 'Bacon: Unplugged,'" Lordon, a 32-year-old who now lives in the Mount Washington neighborhood, told the P-G. He grew up in Whitehall Borough, and his parents still live there.
