Baldwin Borough Police Briefs (Nov. 28-Dec. 4)

Two DUI arrests from this past week.

South Park Man Arrested

A Baldwin Borough police officer on patrol reported observing a vehicle speeding on River Road/East Carson Street in north Baldwin at around 1:18 a.m. on Nov. 28.

As the officer followed the vehicle—driven by Thomas Jeffrey Kerber, 23, of 1800 Patrick Place, Apt. 112, in South Park Township—he also reported that Kerber failed to drive within a single lane.

The officer eventually pulled Kerber over near the Glenwood Bridge in Pittsburgh’s Hays neighborhood, and upon approaching him, reported detecting the odor of an alcoholic beverage.

The officer put Kerber through field-sobriety and breath-analyzer tests and reported that he failed them all. He was then arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to the Baldwin police station before eventually being released to the custody of his parents.

Jefferson Hills Man Arrested

A Baldwin Borough police officer on patrol reported observing a vehicle driving erratically and speeding on Keeport Drive in south Baldwin at around 2:23 a.m. on Dec. 2.

The officer followed the vehicle—driven by John Scott Lion, 42, of 1679 Village Green Drive in the Heritage Hills complex of Jefferson Hills Borough—onto Curry Hollow Road, where he reported that Lion continued to drive erratically, often failing to stay within a single lane.

The officer eventually pulled Lion over in the Sheetz parking lot on Curry Hollow in Pleasant Hills Borough, and upon approaching Lion, reported detecting the odor of an alcoholic beverage.

The officer put Lion through field-sobriety and breath-analyzer tests and reported that he failed them all. Lion was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken to the Baldwin police station before eventually being released to the custody of his son.
