B-W Patch's First 'Best of' Winner: Burgers

And the winner is ...

We've heard from a few readers, and some have actually reviewed and/or rated their favorite places around town. And the Baldwin-Whitehall Patch is pleased to recognize Thee Olde Place Inn in Baldwin Borough with its first "Best of" award for burgers.

Other restaurants in Baldwin-Whitehall considered for the honor were Amel's in Baldwin Township, Armstrong's and Prior's Tap & Tavern in Whitehall Borough's Caste Village, and Eat'n Park on Route 51.

While it helps that B-W Patch Editor Bob Healy has eaten some burgers at Thee Olde Place, reader ML made the decision easy when she wrote about that restaurant's angus steak burgers:

"As Roseann (Vamos) said in her first review here, this place does not disappoint. Now we're talking BURGERS, so once again, Thee Olde Place does not disappoint.

"In fact, going back years and years to even the 1970s (maybe before?), folks came from near and far for the delicious burgers at The Office Lounge (now Thee Olde Place).

"We're talking meal-sized burger here, with fries. Like the other menu items at Thee Olde Place, you get quality ingredients, prepared to please.

"Next time you want a really good burger, this is the place to be."

Stay tuned for our next "Best of" contest for Baldwin-Whitehall. You as readers are vital to these contests.

I did see this from you, Frank, as a comment to an article: "On that list of nominees I would pick Armstrongs. Talk about HUGE! You can easily get a couple meals out of it. The Hickory Burger was the best."

We considered those words for this contest this time. We'll get your official review for the next contest!
