2012 Baldwin Borough Meeting Dates and Times Announced

All meetings will be held at the municipal complex on Churchview Avenue, except library board meetings at Wallace Building on Macek Drive.

 

The Baldwin Borough Council has announced the dates and times for its 2012 borough meetings, including regular council, council agenda, planning commission, zoning hearing board and library board.

The regular council, council agenda, planning commission and zoning hearing board meetings will all be held at the Baldwin Borough Municipal Complex on Churchview Avenue. Each of those meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Baldwin Borough Public Library board meetings will be held in the Wallace Building on Macek Drive. Those meetings will begin at 7 p.m.

2012 planning commission meetings (second Monday of every month at municipal complex at 7:30 p.m.): Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 12, April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10.

2012 council agenda meetings (second Tuesday of every month at municipal complex at 7:30 p.m.): Jan. 10, Feb. 14, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, Aug. 14, Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11.

2012 regular council meetings (third Tuesday of every month at municipal complex at 7:30 p.m.): Jan. 17, Feb. 21, March 20, April 17, May 15, June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, Sept. 18, Oct. 16, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18.

2012 zoning hearing board meetings (third Thursday of every month at municipal complex at 7:30 p.m.): Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.

2012 library board meetings (third Thursday of every month at Wallace Building at 7 p.m.): Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.

The municipal complex address is 3344 Churchview Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15227.

The Wallace Building address is 41 Macek Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.

The Baldwin Borough Council regular May meeting will be Tuesday, May 15 (originally listed as "TBA").

Thanks! My husband sells tickets for the Pirates (and the Steelers and Pitt Panthers). Go Bucs! I've been meaning to take my two (homeschooled) kids to the borough meetings--local politics is so important, much more so than federal.

Bob, which type of meeting would you consider to be the most interesting (as in which one could hold my kids' attention the longest)?

That is a terrific question. Note that the planning and zoning meetings often get canceled or postponed due to no topics being ready for discussion, so I would stay away from those.

The regular council meetings are, in my opinion, the most important. Actual motions are made, seconded and passed, often turning into local law.
