Food City Fellows Community Garden Initiative

The Food City Fellows Community Garden Initiative is a program hosted by Women for a Healthy Environment.  As a summer work-study program, students will design, create and maintain a community garden located adjacent to the Accamando Center in the Carrick/Overbrook neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. Students will also have classroom opportunities to learn about community sustainability, environmental issues (both regionally and nationally), agriculture and food production and other topics.  These topics will be further explored through research and community interaction. Students will be paid minimum wage. Program dates are: Monday-Thursday 9:00am-1:00pm, June 25th-August 16th.
